Halo Top in a bit of a pickle?

Halo Top is in a bit of a pickle here. Even though from a business point of view, they are thriving, people are now having a whole pint of their ice creams in one go. Even though they do say that the serving size is about half a pint, is it actually healthy to be having a whole pint of ice cream every day? This just means that their marketing campaigns have actually gotten across to the people. They have slogans like “Stop when you hit the bottom” or “No bowl, no regrets” written on the packaging and people have quite literally taken that as it is and are actually only stopping when they hit the bottom of the pint.
A whole challenge called the “Halo Top Diet” became a very huge thing and people were actually going on eating just the ice cream and nothing else for 10 days. Halo Top’s president and COO Doug Bouton had this to say “Even though the articles are great publicity for us, It is not at all recommended to have a whole pint everyday”. He added on to this statement by saying “Nutritionally you’re going to need more than just Halo Top in your diet, but we think it’s a great part of your diet.”
The brand does indeed create a very good product but it should be viewed as a lower calorie version of ice cream instead of a healthy alternative that you can eat a pint of everyday. It has pre-biotic protein which is healthy but large intake could lead to stomach problems. When this was pointed out by people, Halo Top just had to intervene and say this sort of a problem can only occur if you have more than 3 pints of their ice cream in one sitting.
In conclusion, there is a thin line between defending your product without any care for your community and actually caring for your community. I think Halo Top is actually doing everything they can to stop people from having a pint full of their ice creams every day, but their marketing slogans have still remained the same. Maybe they do enjoy the publicity that comes with it and so far, no one has had any major health problems related to this incident. So, till this keeps happening, free publicity for Halo Top and more ice cream for the people?
